Shortly after 1500 hours, a civilian came running up to station 8 advising of a house on fire. Engine Company 8 arrived at 6905 Adel Street with a working fire. The assignment was sounded sending units to the scene, while Truck 9 was alerted to fill Company 8. With fire in the knee walls, Command (Chief 8) requested a fire task force to the scene to assist. Truck 9 with 5 men, arrived on the scene and were sent to the roof to open up. The crew threw three ladders and opened up the roof.  After 5 minutes of roof work, fire started coming out of both windows and the center of the roof. Crews were ordered off the roof and crews darkened down the fire from the outside. After another 20 minutes of work, Command started releasing units. Truck 9 cleared the scene at 1645 hours.

Company 9 maintained two Engine crews and an Ambulance crew for the remainder of the afternoon.
