With 5 Volunteers on Engine 92 filling Company 33 for Mick Mckenzie's funeral, and 7 Volunteers staffing our station, Engine and Truck 9 were alerted to 502 68th Street for the house fire. Units from Company 8 and 5 arrived on the scene with smoke showing. Engine 92 arrived on the scene and deployed a back up line to division 1 to assist in operations. Truck Company 9, arrived on the scene and stood fast for 15 minutes before filling Company 8. Units cleared the scene in about an hour. Engine 92 remained at Kentland until 1700 hours, when the Kentland crew returned from honoring "Mick".
