Shortly after 0200 hours on January 3rd, units were alerted to the 5900 block of M.L.K. Highway for the building fire. Crews arrived on the scene at the Murry's Steaks with smoke showing. Crews located a refrigeration unit on fire and went to work. Ambulance 99 was alerted to the scene as the working fire dispatch ambulance. Engine/Truck 9 were alerted to fill Company 8 during the incident. Crews on the scene had the fire under control in about 20 minutes. The units from Bladensburg returned to our station around 0400 hours.
