Just before 1400 hours, Truck 9 was alerted to 7417 Jefferson Street for the house on fire with one reported to still be inside. The Truck responded on the call second due with 6 Volunteers, and moments after dispatch the engine from 28 went on scene with smoke showing and requested the working fire be transmitted. Truck 9 arrived on the scene behind the engine from 28 and assumed first due special service responsibilities. As the interior crew entered and began searches, which turned up negative, the outside crew began throwing ladders and conducting ventilation. Interior crews located a kitchen off and extinguished the same.
After the fire was knocked, command continued to hold the engines from 28 and 33, and Truck 9. The Truck Company completed extensive overhaul and assisted the investigators. After all was completed, the Truck Company returned to service at 1518 hours.
