ENGINE AND TRUCK HEAD TO THE SOUTHSIDE FOR SOME WORK

     

Saturday, March 3, 2012 The guys were cleaning up from dinner, when Truck 9 was alerted to 2711 Ocala Street (Forestville) for the house fire. The Truck, Chief and A-Chief responded with 8 Volunteers as the 3rd due special service. Engine 37 arrived on the scene of a single story home with smoke showing. Interior crews found a kitchen off with extension. Units from 9 arrived on the scene and went to work. The Truck crew searched the basement and opened up the attic, while the A-Chief was assigned to Division 1. With no extension, Command scaled it back to 2 and 2. Truck 9 cleared the scene at 2113 hours.

With the Engine clearing a call on Hil Mar Drive and the Truck leaving the fire ground, the units were alerted to 6439 Pennsylvaia Avenue for the apartment fire. Units arrived on the scene of a two story garden apartment with smoke showing. Engine and Truck 9 got inside and located a fire in a rear bedroom. Crews had the fire out and searches completed with-in 5 minutes of arrival. Command scaled the incident back to the units from 9. Company cleared the scene at 2220 hours.
