Bladensburg Volunteer Fire Department

TRUCK COMPANY BACK TO KENTLAND WITH FIRE SHOWING THIS TIME VERMONT AVENUE

Thursday, April 19, 2012 At 1107 hours, Truck 9 was alerted second due to 1803 Vermont Avenue for the house on fire. Engine and Chief 33 arrived on the scene of a one story single, with fire showing. Engine 33 pushed in and found a couple rooms going in the back of the house. With a little "bottleneck" on Vermont Avenue, Truck 9 went around the block and was the next arriving unit on the scene. The 6 man crew was assigned first due duties and went to work. Interior crews opened up, searched the basement and division 1, and controled the utilities.

After 10 minutes of work, the fire was in check and all searches were negative. Command scaled the incident back to 2&2 for overhaul. Truck 9 assisted with various other duties for another hour before being released. Truck 9 cleared the scene at 1220 hours.
